The Last Sculpture
The story "THE LAST SCULPTURE" describes about a boy who facing the situation over different path of the vision over magical situations to bring his friend back to life. In this story, there was a boy named shiva and he was 14 years old. He lost his vision when
he was two years old but he wished to see how the world looks like but every day ends with disappointment
because he knows that he cannot see the world . Shiva had a Muslim friend named
Yash. They were close friends from childhood. Shiva likes him very much. Yash always care for shiva. As shiva was a
blind guy yash take him everywhere and they both spend time together. Shiva and
yash always visit the old temple of broken sculpture goddess in the center of the village town which nobody visited ever and
they both clean the dust and praise the god every time when they visit there and yash makes shiva to
touch the god face to feel it and shiva feel the little crack in her right-side
face while touching the sculpture. Something holds them to believe that the
broken God can hear them. One day Shiva told yash that he wishes to see yash at
least once. Yash replied that “one day you will see me and we celebrate
that day with seeing each other” and hugged him. Next day shiva waited for yash
arrival but yash is not arrived. later waiting for so long Shiva took his walking stick and went to Yash’s house.
When he was nearing yash’s home he heard people were crying and he felt some
bad presence around him. Shiva asked a stranger in the crowd what is happening
there. The strange man told him that yash and his family were poisoned
themselves and yash's mother, father, and his twin little sisters were died.
Shiva dropped his stick with tears. He asked the strange man about yash. He
told that yash was in the hospital and he also in serious condition. Shiva doesn’t
know what to do. He went to the old temple and touches the broken god sculpture and started praying for yash. Later then he went to the hospital for yash
but he only heard bad news that yash was no more. Shiva couldn't control the situation around him and shouted yash’s name and cried in front
of the hospital and he returns to the old temple.
When he stepping into the old temple, he throws his
walking stick to the god’s sculpture and shouted why did the god done like this
to him and cried. He started screaming and blaming the god that “how dare you took
my friend from me”, he shouted. Shiva told that “there is no pure hearted guy like
Yash, he was the only person who cared me a lot and now you took him from me”,
he said with crying. Shiva said that he never feels blind when yash was with
him but now for the first time he feels ashamed to be a blind person to live in
this universe and he felt so depressed that he never have yash again. He crushed the god with heart full of pain. At the time he heard a voice calling his name.
There was a girl standing in front of him
who was his age but shiva couldn’t see the girl and confused that how did she know his name.
He only heard the voice of the strange girl. He asked her” who are you?”, but
the strange voice without answering his question she asked Shiva that “you wish
to see your friend through your eyes at least once in your life, right? “ . Shiva
couldn’t understand that “who she is and why she asking all this to him?”.
Shiva told her to leave him alone. She went near to him
and holds his hand and told him that “I couldn’t make yash alive but I can help
you to see yash and the world surrounds you atleast once , but if you accept that what I ‘m telling
you to do", she said. Shiva couldn’t believe her words because he knows that he couldn’t
see yash because he was blind from when he was little but even though he knows he
couldn’t see him he accepted to do what
the girl says and he asked her what he want to do to see Yash. The strange girl
told him that there are four sculptures in front of him and he should break
each sculpture one by one in that which broken sculpture he wished to fix it again
in that situation he can see his friend yash through his eyes.
Shiva accepted and went near the first sculpture. He touched
the sculpture and he feels the presence of situation around him that he saw the center of the road
with a politician sculpture in front of him and people were busy in their work. Shiva took his hands from the first
sculpture and broke the sculpture with his walking stick and he was shocked to
see the presence of the same situation around him but now he saw the politician
sculpture was broken and their peoples were fighting with each other for the
sculpture. He saw that transports are burning; the party members are protesting
against each other. The public was violated by the party members of politician.
He was so scared of the stupid peoples and he hate the situation over him. Shiva
never wanted to see yash in this situation so he took a step backward without
fixing it and he can understand that the first sculpture
which he was broken is the sculpture of the politician. Then he moved to the second sculpture and he touch
it to feel the presence of the second sculpture. The situation that gave him a
positive vibrant and he csaw a sculpture of a God. Everyone is
praising the god and children are happy and playing around everywhere and bell sounds are ranging
around him. When he broke the second sculpture. The same place was totally
different from what he was seen before. The god sculpture was broken, people
were running in the crowd, children were crying around him, Different religion peoples
are fighting with each other and people and Children were dying in the
crowd. Shiva don't want to see the
arrogant people in there and he felt that as he and yash were from different religion. This situation will teach them about violence
against each religion. So, he didn't want to see yash in that arrogant
situation and he took step backward without fixing and he can understand
himself that the second one was God sculpture.
Then he moved to the third sculpture and he touched it. When he opened his eyes in the presence he
was in the beach and Children were playing and there was so much friends and families
spending time happily with each other and sharing foods and also, he saw a poor
old man who was begging for some food. There were so many peoples in the beach. He was so relief that there is no sculpture
in this scenario like before he experienced. Then he breaks the third sculpture
when he came to the same situation, he saw the same presence around him. He
feels so happy and he thought that it was the situation to see yash but while
he turned aside, he saw the people taking pictures of the poor man who was begging
for food was surround by people and offering him food .It seem good until they
are posting picture of of exposing them offering poverty in social media for likes and followers. Nobody ready to fulfil
his needs and some of the people get back the money they have given just for
the post and some of them threw the waste food on him disrespectfully and made
the old man feel worry about his life . The
moment he gets angry about the brainless people of the situation and he took step backward and he hates to fix it and he move on to the last sculpture.
He was so disappointed of the society because of the
three sculptures which has only the bad presence situation. But he
wants to see his friend yash for that he ready to break the last sculpture. Shiva
touches the last sculpture and last situation of presence came. When he opened
his eyes, his eyes were full of tears. Shiva already knew that place in words
which was described by Yash once. Shiva saw the
view which was told by yash that the place was filled with green fields and the
peoples are harvesting in the farming land and singing. Shiva couldn’t even blink
his eye by seeing the situation around him. And he doesn’t see any sculpture
in the situation. He took his walking stick and broke the last sculpture. when
he ready to see, he was shocked to see that the situation because in first
three situation he saw the people were fighting each other for selfish politician,
unity less peoples and with no humanity but here the farming lands of fields were
turning into parched fields and the farming animals were dying of thirsty
because of waterless atmosphere and also, he can feel the nature is disappearing
slowly. Shiva don’t know what to do he just turned back. Shiva had a tear in
his eyes when he saw a man who was faraway distance from him hanged himself
in the tree with holding a rice crop yield in his hand and a cow showing its sarrow towards him by licking his legs.
In that situation, shiva freaked out and worried of
heartless God. By crossing the three sculpture he saw the worse side of the world
which was created by these misleading selfish humans who fighting over a sculpture
and pretending they are good beings in the magical situation but in here he saw
the real man who sacrificing himself and unexceptional thing is the nature worrying
and stepping down for the single person in front of him and the situation were
turned to parched and nature less land. He can understand that the man who was
hanging is a farmer. It was a most wistful and guilty situation
He took his step back. The strange girl asked him if
he want to fix it up or not. Shiva paid silent and took away the broken piece
and started fixing it. After completely
fixed the sculpture, he saw a farmer sculpture and went to the same presence of
situation he heard a voice of his friend yash calling from behind him. Shiva turned
back and so happy to see yash in real. Shiva ran to him and hugged him tightly
with tears. Yash showed Shiva that their village and the green fields and he
took him to his home. Shiva was so much delighted to see yash’s family. When he
arrived yash home he was shocked to See his father who was man hanged himself
in the before situation he had faced. And Shiva has no words to say to yash. He
ran out of yash’s house and went to the temple and cried by saying why this all
happening to him and he shouted at the God. The same strange girl voice came
there now Shiva can see her face. She was so beautiful but had some scars in
her body. Shiva was thinking that he felt her face before in the sense of touching
and the scar in her face reminds him something close to him. She told shiva that
you facing a hard time and you and your friend were showed love towards me and
cared me while none of the people wants to see me and thanked him. Shiva was so
confused about what she was saying. Then she asked shiva, “You can see the world
in real and you can cure from your blindness or else you can bring back your
friend and his family alive. You have only one wish I can do for you”. Shiva begins
to realize that she is a god of the broken sculpture in the temple. Shiva said
to the girl that he was so happy to see him at least once in the magical
situation and its happened and thanked her for everything. Shiva told her, I
don’t want my vision because he is the guide of my life Book “, he said. I wish
that my friend yash and his family to be alive. The girl smiled at Shiva.
Suddenly Shiva fells unconscious and after an hour someone waked him up. He couldn’t see anything but he hears Yash’s voice and he happy that yash was there. He was so much happy to feel his presence in real. At the time Yash’s father arrived there and told yash that he had a profit sale for his crop yields and he took yash and Shiva to his farming land and spend their time together happily. While they play in the middle of the field. Shiva feels the presence of something makes him to feel the presence of the girl even though he was blind he look towards the direction of the broken goddess temple which is far away from where he was standing and at the same time surprisingly that strange girl seeing shiva and yash from the temple with a pleasant smile. The story ends.
